Little did I know, when I wrote about internet trolls, that they actually have their own psychological diagnosis! OK, not really, but perhaps the brains behind the DSM should consider it.
The Urban Dictionary states that those rabid ranters who lurk on blog sites have Internet Troll Personality Disorder. People suffering from this disorder “express strong emotions with an impressionistic style, pretend to throw arbitrary tantrums, and never hesitate to contribute absurd, non-sequitur remarks at any perceived opportunity.”
In light of this novel designation, and to validate the experience of bloggers who have been flogged by trollish tirades, I am announcing the Troll Survivor Contest and Giveaway.
The folks at Urban Dictionary have designed this awesome Internet Troll Personality Disorder coffee mug.
Amused by the idea of sipping your morning java out of this vessel? Leave a comment quoting the most outrageous troll response you have ever received or read on a blog post.
On April 22nd I will announce the recipient of this one-of-a-kind mug: the person who has received the wackiest, most incendiary trolling.
May the toughest Troll Survivor win!
Contestants, please e-mail me at [email protected] so I can notify the winner personally and arrange to send you the prize.
