Single Parent Double Duty

Double duty of carryiing the burden financially, logistically – but I want to talk about the overcompensating we sometimes o – emotionally.

I carry it with me, still. The sense of doing double duty, carrying the double burden of being two parents, or at least, more emotionally available because the absent parent was less so.

I wonder if you ever get over it, or stop doing it.
