I had a good day. Sometimes that calls for exclamation.
First, all the kids went to school.
Second, I had a good laugh at while seeing patients today.
(Sometimes you just have to laugh, especially when they are so paranoid that they are funny)
Clearly I must tell this story. I was at an inpatient hospital and speaking to this woman who was referred for paranoia. She was elderly. She was hunched over in her chair hugging something to her chest that she had stuffed under her shirt. I said several times, “Ms. _________, what is under your shirt?” again, “Ms. ___________, can you tell me what you have under your shirt?” She yelled, “MY TITTY! My TITTY! Leave me alone!”
I’m sorry, but I had that coming. I almost peed myself laughing.
Third, I think that Stanley has a new girlfriend.
That is good news because he is less surly when he is dating someone and happy.
And I do want him happy. A happy beer monkey is better than a surly one.
Just ask anyone.
Fourth, Al is coming for the weekend.
I haven’t seen him for a month and I think I have sounded so pitiful on the phone (through my sickness and all) that he called me and told me he had gotten a ticket for this weekend. He is also coming next weekend. Yeah Me! I have kids this weekend so we will have to work around them but it will be okay. I am very happy and excited about that.
Now I have to figure out how to write up my clinical note on what will now be called the ‘titty incident’.
Good days are good.
