It has been taking a village around here for the past few days.
More villagers needed actually.
JB tested positive last week for Flu B. She was okay for a few days, sick but not deathly ill and we thought she had a light case and was improving. Fast forward to Friday and she got a high fever just in time for the weekend and Merlot’s birthday party that I had decided not to cancel since JB seemed okay. My mom ( The Mother Teresa of the the Village People) came and took her out of here for the party and we lysoled the hell out of the nest and everyone (seriously, Merlot said she got it in her mouth and it tastes like it smells, in case anyone is wondering). A fun time was had by all and Mom brought JB back and we put her back in bed. By 6 p.m. that evening, Merlot was

The Boy bailed out of here fast and went to a friend’s to sleepover. Yes, his mother is a saint like villager. I spent the evening giving the girls Motrin with a Tylenol chaser, taking temps and on a quest for Tamiflu for Merlot. On Sunday, both were still feverish and Stanley and I were due to exchange. Merlot was crying for me to stay and Stanley decided to be the Villager on Call, you know, to preserve their health and all, and so took The Boy to his apartment for the night. I think they had dinner with his girlfriend (the one who wants my lifestyle) who is not a part of this village. She lives in Mean Village next door. (They are possibly going to be stormed by Head Hunters from my village, yes, we have been watching Gilligan’s Island DVD’s).
Since I am so exposed to the black death, Stanley kept The Boy again tonight at his place. I am hoping that both girls are better tomorrow and back to school on Wednesday. I took Merlot to the doc today where we waited 2 hours for them to see her and get more Tamiflu. I’m about sick of that place.
There are things I am grateful about through this ordeal. First and foremost, that Stanley and I have been able to communicate well enough and be flexible enough to meet the needs of the kids even though we are at loggerheads over the length of time we will be nesting. Second, that my sick kids have been able to be in their home and not have to change houses while they feel so bad.
I have no idea what the future holds.
We have a date to talk at some point.
I have some ideas that may make it easier for him to
commit to birdnesting for a longer period of time.
I will have to solve the problem of course.
Since I am the problem solver in the village still.
Of course every village has an idiot.
Lord knows mine does.
Going to go spray some more Lysol.

Love the “I am old and not needy” line. I have no idea how children can do it when it is so hard on adults. I finally bought a stick of deodorant for my glove compartment, it is what I leave the most. Glad she is on board for now!

I sometimes think about blogging but then I just read yours and laugh and feel better. Glad things have eased slightly on the Stanley needs front. My X who stormed out of our last separation therapy saying no way no more to nesting today emailed saying we should sign the (short term) lawyer agreement for nesting. She never was that consistent in anything but I am happy. Moving every 2 2 3 days sucks. And I am old and not needy.
