What’s the best thing about a celebrity crush? They are perfect! I mean, you can adore them, they’ll never hurt your feelings, and you can just love them forever! It’s always so much fun when my girlfriends and I chat about our celebrity crushes. For all you twenty and thirty somethings, this list might not be your thing. We all have our types… so no judging! My favorites are clean cut with great smiles, and sometimes have killer blue eyes.
My Top 5 Celebrity Boyfriends:
George Clooney:(Gravity, The Monuments Men, Ocean’s trilogy)
With classic good looks, warm brown eyes, natural class and elegance… what more do I need to say? George Clooney is the consummate “movie-star” heart throb. His elegance is a throwback to another era. There are NOT many like him. When I was asking my girlfriends about their celebrity crushes, “George” (first name only) was at the top of many lists.
There are not very many men who are so good looking that I might prefer to just see them from afar- for fear of turning into a simpleton if I ever had to speak to them. I hate to admit it, I can only imagine that reaction with George. I think if he even looked at me I would turn 5 shades of red! Other men in his category would be Cary Grant, Rock Hudson. (Denzel is almost on this list, but he seems less intimidating somehow.)
Kevin Costner: (3 Days to Kill, Jack Ryan)
I have to admit, I have been a big Kevin Costner fan from early in his career. He has found a soft spot in my heart playing roles like a young, “girl-crazy” cowboy in “Silverado”, a sexy naval officer in “No Way Out” and everything since. Even though I wasn’t a fan of the long “epic” movies he was making for a while… I still love him.
I think part of my affection for Kevin Costner has to do with the boyish charm he portrays in his movies like, “Field of Dreams” and “Bull Durham”. I think it was “Bull Durham” that did me in… playing opposite Susan Sarandon and co-starring with Tim Robbins. I still swoon a little when I hear his monologue where he said,” I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.”
His charm is different than Clooney’s, but he remains on my list.
Shemar Moore: (Criminal Minds, Young and the Restless)
He’s so gorgeous that he really needs no introduction. I don’t think Shemar Moore has ever taken a bad picture in his life, but my favorites show his beautiful smile. I am less of a fan of the more serious sultry pics … not that anyone has asked me.
I know I am not the only one who is half in love with him! His Facebook posts randomly show up on my page, so I know some of my friends are following him. Even my daughter says that he is “so beautiful, that she would pay money just to have him stand in front of her.”
In my world, it only enhances my interest that he plays a good guy on “Criminal Minds.” Besides being his obvious good looks, he seems genuinely warm and approachable. He could call me, “Baby Girl” anytime.
Matt Damon: (The Monuments Men, Bourne movies, Good Will Hunting)
I have been a fan of Matt Damon ever since “Good Will Hunting.” He is not my normal “type” but he makes the list nonetheless. He has beautiful blue eyes, and sparkling smile and a witty charm that never made him seem so young…unlike Leonardo Dicaprio, who seemed like he was 12 in “Titanic.” Somehow, in spite of their similar characteristics, I was never sparked by Leonardo. (I know, everyone is going to think I am crazy for that statement. That may be a generational gap, as younger women love Leonardo.)
Matt Damon’s roles, have sucked me in and kept me a fan. A younger girlfriend tried to convince me to take him off my list, but I couldn’t do it. In my mind, he will always be Jason Bourne, a combination of “super cool ” and “hot and sexy.”
Mark Harmon: (NCIS, Chicago Hope, Freaky Friday)
Mark Harmon is right up there with George Clooney. He is handsome, classy and elegant. His resume is incredible. I didn’t realize how extensive it was until I was researching this article. Did you realize his TV appearances include playing serial killer Ted Bundy in “The Deliberate Stranger” and episodes of the “Love Boat”? I also learned that he is married to Pam Dawber, of “Mork and Mindy” fame. I like her! Now, I have one more reason to like him.
He has aged well. He and George are picture proof of men becoming more distinguished with age. He continues to keep my attention as Special Agent, Leroy Jethro Gibbs on “NCIS.” I can spend an entire Saturday watching an “NCIS” marathon on TV. I am not sure if it’s the show or Mark Harmon that I like so much. I think it’s both.
So many men, it’s so hard to choose
There are plenty of other top stars men who are not included on my list. They might make it on my radar, but these are my favorites- in no particular order. Don’t get me wrong, I still appreciate Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and the like. In fact, there are so many, it’s hard to choose.
In my personal world, I still like the clean cut guys. They can be more interesting-looking or even average looking (like Nicolas Cage, or John Cusak). In the end, it’s all about the personalities, charm and a little spark. I am a sucker for charm. I am not looking for the perfect man… just the right one for me.
