What are we looking for?
We want to feature personal essays about your divorce experience, challenges you faced since your divorce and how you’ve managed to survive and thrive. We would love to feature articles about women’s issues, cultural issues faced by women in general that are written from a unique and diverse point of view. Here at Divorced Moms, we love smart, well-written articles that are original and unique…from your perspective in your own voice.
What fits on Divorced Moms?
Stories about awesome women who are doing awesome things. Stories that highlight struggles and creative problem solving, tell us about dream jobs and how to get one, write about positive body image, give our readers your best beauty tips or, show them via recipes and images how to get things cooking in the kitchen.
Write about women in the news; tell us about friendships and how to maintain them, share with our readers about dating and relationships and how to survive that aspect of finding new love after divorce. Share with us essays about adversity in your life and how you overcame it.
We want stories that make us feel we are all in it together, all women!
What doesn’t fit on Divorced Moms?
Crime stories, mean-spiritedness, anger or anything that will cause our readers to leave the site with the doldrums. There is no room on Divorced Moms for pessimism.
Who do we want to feature?
We are looking for writers who are smart, funny, and creative with strong writing and grammar skills and are going through or have already survived divorce. We want you to be able to spin an interesting tale, share a story that is engaging and encouraging to others. We want committed writers who can contribute regularly on a weekly basis or, at the very least are like-minded people who love women/moms and issues related to women and their empowerment.
