After a very brief diagnosis, my father passed away.
I can’t say it was a battle. By the time his esophageal cancer was discovered, the tumor was inoperable. Lymph nodes were invaded. Distant organs were impacted. No chemo took place.
Life came to a close…
This marks the first passing of one of my parental figures. It’s new territory for me. I’m mourning the loss of the relationship I had and the relationship that I wish would have been.
Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows. ~ Pope Paul VI
No more pain. No more worries.
He’s in a better place.

I am so sorry for your loss. What a difficult time, especially at the approach of the holidays.
