The focus of my practice is on women in transition; women who are changing employment, entering into motherhood, going through a divorce, widowhood or starting retirement. I use tools from my social work background, such as a strength based and supportive approach to the investment and financial planning process. I host a monthly Money Club for Women, quarterly workshops for those going through divorce and contribute articles to local publications. I have the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA ™) designation and work with attorneys, mediators and those practicing collaborative divorce to identify the most equitable division of assets.
Initially, I assist women in identifying all the assets of the marriage, including those that potentially may be hidden or under reported. Working as a team with an attorney, mediator or in a collaborative divorce, I can demonstrate how different financial settlements will impact the client and her family for the short and long term. In addition, I help ensure that other financial areas are addressed such as life insurance, beneficiaries and college planning.
