I just finished my latest book, Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway by Susan Jeffers.
I liked the main theme: All fears boil down to one main fear — I can’t handle it.
Courage is not the lack of fear, it’s feeling the fear and doing what you’re afraid of anyway. I’m the only one who holds me back.
Look forward I know I trust myself to handle whatever comes my way. I’ve been through a divorce before, I’ve been unemployed before, I’ve carried a house that wouldn’t sell before, I’ve put myself out there and been hurt before…and I lived to tell about all of those experiences.
Know I can handle it.
Some major points from the book:
All you have to do to diminish your fear is to develop more trust in your ability to handle whatever comes your way!
The fear will never go away as long as I continue to grow.
The only way to get rid of the fear of doing something is to go out and do it.
Pushing through fear is less frightening than living with the underlying fear that comes from a feeling of helplessness.
“I can’t” implies you have no control over your life, whereas “I won’t” puts a situation in the realm of choice. So feel the fear and do it anyway!
