A view on optimism found on Huffington Post‘s GPS for the Soul
Optimism is the foundation of courage
I agree whole-heartedly.
Without the glimmer of hope, the kernel of success, the smallest glimpse of the positive, there would be no incentive to try. The thought of a positive outcome doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t even have to be 50/50…it just has to be there, like a small pinpoint of light in an otherwise empty room.
I believe that people with imagination have the greatest optimism. Amidst all the perceived doom and gloom, which they can acknowledge they still see a way to succeed. Overcoming the odds isn’t really a thought process to muddle through. Rather, they know odds can be beaten and, for now, that is enough. The hard work and temporary setbacks will occur, but the driving force is still the vision of a flag raised high in victory at the end of the proverbial tunnel.
Optimism isn’t a world without troubles, it is a powerful force that tells us we can fall down 10 times and still get up again. I love being an optimist!
