Looking at the calendar it’s hard to believe two years have passed since Husband #2 left. We’re in a much better place with each other, more open and vulnerable with our feelings and needs.
I am happily looking forward to seeing him again this month for our consolation cruise. It may be the last visit for a long time. We need to figure out where we’re going from here. What does our future look like? Will we have a future together?
As usual, I’m the optimist. He’s the pessimist. What else is new?
With that said, I know we’ll have a great time traveling the high seas. We always do, even if our day is dedicated to sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and a good book.
He is my travel buddy.
Today I will look at the calendar, mark a big red “X” through one more square, and count off the number of days until I see him again.
I should probably do laundry.
And work out.
Definitely work out.
There will be decadent desserts to sample on board.
OK, I’ll work out twice.
