An old friend took me out to dinner recently. We have known each other forever. Okay, about 20 years. She missed my birthday party and wanted to give me a gift. It was a box, hand-painted by her favorite artist.
When I opened the box, I found these.
Forrest Gump was right: life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.
Today, I’m thankful for my old friend and this box of chocolates.
What are you thankful for today?
I am thankful for my new life—post divorce.
I’d say your new life rocks, hockey mama.
I am thankful for phone calls from my college kids, and for my youngest son and his friends, who still enjoy our Halloween parties.
I’m thankful for a quiet Sunday with my husband and my son. That’s today.

I’m thankful for the many donations and support (including yours!) our team received for the walk to end epilepsy. I’m thankful that because of the walk, the family seemed to elude the usual Sunday blues, and I’m thankful for our blue and sunny skies!
