A Little Scare

Or maybe a big scare…

I’m too freaked to know which.

I went to the doc on friday for a sinus infection.

While feeling my neck nodes she got concerned

and called another doctor into feel.

Next question, “When was your last breast exam?”

Me: “Ummm, I’m late. I have a mammogram scheduled for 9/6.”

Then, “Do you have a family history of breast cancer?”

Me, “What is going on, what do you feel?”

Her, “Just some nodes that are low and not where we like to feel them.

Do you mind if we do a breast exam?”

Me, “Hell, no.  Feel away.”

Her, “Well I don’t feel anything but we need to do an ultrasound on those nodes.”

Me, “Can you do it now?”

Her, “No, the u/s tech is off this afternoon.  Monday morning is fine.”

Me, “Should I be freaking out?”

Her, “Oh, no, it is good we didn’t feel anything on the exam.”

She leaves the room.

I sit and cry.

Like, I just went in there because my throat hurt.

I got 2 shots in my butt for my current sinus/throat crap.

I’ve tried not to think about it but now I’m

pretty sure something terrible is wrong.

I can’t feel any nodes.

They told me not to google and I tried but then I did.

Boy, am I sorry.

I am going at 8:30 a.m.
