So. I have had a headache since Sunday.
It is the headache that won’t go away.
It started during the 6 hour-breakfast-with-the-ex
so, yes,
Al’s co-parenting started it all off.
I’m still processing that one.
(I’m somewhere between understanding and rat bastard)
I’ve taken (at separate times) Motrin, Tylenol, Xanax,
Zyrtec, Sudafed, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay
and a big shot of ‘okay, I’m glad you got closure’.
But I still have a headache.
I have no idea how to get rid of this.
I think it started as tension and ended up as sinus.
Yesterday was good anyway.
I faked my way through The Boy’s Birthday
so that he had a good day and didn’t know
I felt a legion of tiny elves banging my head with hammers.
I wouldn’t complain so much if it was this elf banging.
(I digressed)
Stanley was actually on last night but we went to dinner all together
and took one of The Boy’s friends in addition to our gang.
Then we had ice cream cake at the house.
It was all fine with Stanley except for one mini fit
when I told him the kids tried to move the
trampoline to the area beside the pool.
He raged and stamped his feet.
My headache got worse.
I assured him I had stopped the trampoline fiasco
and given them a good inservice about quadriplegia.
Then, because kids love their birth story, we
told The Boy at dinner what was happening
at that very moment 14 years ago.
“I was screaming in pain and your daddy
interrupted me to tell me his feet hurt.”
The kids giggled and Stanley told them I
never got his little jokes.
That’s right. Because I’m humorless.
Then we discussed the upcoming England trip
and where they might go and what they
might see.
SMACK! Right to the head again.
Just writing all of this is making it hurt worse.
I think I am going to try a BC Powder and a shot of Fireball next.
But I’m keeping the purse brick handy in case it is
just repressed rage.
