My heart goes out to the people in Oklahoma
and I have been sitting watching the news
and crying with every storym hoping shelter for the children is a possibility.

This year there appears to have been a war on school children.
The poor kids in Newtown and now this in Moore.
That beautiful 8y.o Martin Richard killed at the Boston Marathon.
All the devastation of Hurricane Sandy.
That was just in the US since school started last year.
There aren’t enough tears for the people trying to cope with their losses.
I live in Tornado Alley.
Weather is moving through here today. The dog is anxious.
My kids are at school, it is their next to last day.
They move our kids into concrete hallways
when the tornado sirens go off.
It’s is horrible and scary for the kids.
I was there one day last year helping in a class when the sirens went off.
I was quickly mobilized to help move kids into the hallway and get into position.
The kids were crying, some paralyzed with fear. I went from kid to kid
assuring them that it would be okay.
Merlot was coincidentally in the hallway where I was moving kids.
She was in kindergarten and she was sobbing.
I was so glad I was there to put my hand on her back
and tell her I was there.
I know adults were doing that yesterday.
I’m thankful for them and I’m sure many of them also lost their lives.
Children today feel insecure everywhere.
There are tornado drills at school
There are drills for shooters at school.
There are hurricane drills at school.
I want to put my 3 in bed with me and watch Disney.
Thanks to all the adults who provided comfort to the kids yesterday.
Prayers for Oklahoma and all of those people still grieving their children.
