Ok gentlemen, are you ready for some great adventures in the world of dating? If so, I highly recommend dating a single mom. She will be one of the most sincere, down-to-Earth, fantastic women you can meet. There are just certain life experiences that are tough but bring out the best in you.
Being a single momma is definitely one of those experiences. These women are wonderful creatures. In case you’re fortunate enough to come across one in the near future, I’m going to give you the inside scoop. Here are five things you need to know about dating a single mom.
1. She is a busy lady:
If she is a little challenged finding some openings in her schedule, don’t mistake it for disinterest. This is just the season of her life, and it won’t always be that way. And it does feel easier once you’re in a serious relationship, and you can hang out with her and the children.
Plus as children get older, they tend to be with mom a little less. And even while the creatures are still little, they can be a lot of fun and bring a great energy to the game. So yes, for a single mom, time is a precious commodity, but so is she. In fact…
2. She is really worth your effort:
When you’re in the company of a single mom, you’re with a person who is a jack-of-all-trades. She wears the many hats of a mother, but because she runs her home without a partner, she’s had to develop an even larger skill set.
This has fostered strength, independence, and a sharp mind. She is a nurturer but also a master multi-tasker who knows how to get things done. Because of these things and because of her lifestyle, she is often an excellent communicator. And she is a champion for those she cares for, fiercely dedicated and goal-oriented.
And remember that her experience at mothering means she’ll be good with your children as well. Not to mention the fact that you’ll probably be the recipient of some home cooked meals. Honestly gentlemen, I could just go on and on.
3. She doesn’t play mind games:
She has limited free time and doesn’t want to waste her time or yours, so she won’t string you along. And besides, it’s reasonable at this point to expect both of you to know what you’re looking for when dating. If one person wants marriage, and the other has no intentions of marrying, the chances of a successful relationship are slim.
No one wants to find this out after already becoming invested. So when dating a single mom, you can and should be totally honest about your intentions right from the start and you can expect her to do the same for you. In fact, she will respect your honest, straight-forward approach.
4. She knows how to appreciate you, AND she’s easily pampered:
Single moms are hard working ladies and there isn’t normally a line of people waiting to thank them for their hard work. Being a parent doesn’t bring in a paycheck either. So, if you extend kind gestures to her, it will most certainly be noticed and appreciated. Sweet words, running an errand, treating her to dinner, surprising her with flowers….she will be thrilled with all of it.
5. She is a lot of fun:
This woman is good at entertaining kids and probably good at organizing celebrations, holidays, and vacations. If she’s raising kids, she’s in touch with her inner child. This is a woman who can play on the floor, ride bikes, toss water balloons, and play a variety of board games.
Chances are she will appreciate a special outing, but can also be very happy snuggled up at home with you watching movies and exchanging back rubs….. And at this moment, it should be mentioned that these are women who know what their amazing bodies are capable of. They’ve created life.
Yes, they are aware of the stretch marks, but they know they are so much more than that. It’s not uncommon for a single mom to be more self-aware and more confident than ever before. Are there any men who might be able to figure out how this could be mutually beneficial to both of you?
If you are a single man in pursuit of the right woman, I’ll assume you’ve seen the video, “Hot Crazy Matrix” by Dana McLendon. On this chart, Dana describes the different categories of women that a man could date. Toward the end of his presentation on women, he discusses some rare mythical creatures. Well, one final hint here, is that the VAST MAJORITY of single moms fall into “that” category. Amazing, isn’t it?
To recap what we’ve learned here today, a single mom is a woman of character. She knows who she is and for what she stands. She knows how to live and how to love. Yes, she’ll place her kids as a high priority, but that’s a testament to her character. Plus this gives a wise gentleman an opportunity to spoil her a little, and remind her that she’s a priority as well. Bottom line, fellas? With a single mom, you get the whole package. And I’m not the first bit biased, I promise.
